Hush Snack! Pumpkin Pie Popcorn!!!

My kids love popcorn. I love it because it's a quick, healthy snack (if done right). But, as my Grandpa said when he heard I was pregnant with my third ;o), I cannot leave well enough alone. I had to one-up the popcorn bag.

Pumpkin Pie Popcorn

1 bag of microwave popcorn, popped
Pour into a large bowl.
Fully coat with olive oil spray, turning & tossing.
Everything is to taste, so no measurements here!
Sprinkle nutmeg, cinnamon, sea salt & sugar & keep tossing it till all the popcorn is covered.
I put some in little bags for each kid so they don't fight over the big bowl.

Listen! Hear that? Birds chirping. The wind, softly blowing through the trees. Jesse, chewing with hos mouth open. Life isn't perfect. But it sure is close sometimes!

Chicken Rice Crock Pot Magic YUM!

This morning I woke up feeling like someone dragged me out of bed, threw me into the middle of the highway and watched as I was repeatedly hit by Mack trucks. I cannot be entirely positive that it didn't happen except for the lack of tire marks on my jammies. That being said, I figured I better start throwing something in the crock pot for dinner tonight in case I didn't make it past noon & the family would end up starving. They're all sick, too. YAAAAAY!

So, this is my new creation:

Chicken Rice Crock Pot Magic!

Ingredients:
2 cups brown rice (dry)
4 cups chicken stock (gluten free for this family!)
1 can of black beans, drained & rinsed
1 can cream style corn
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
A few shakes each of garlic powder, black pepper & McCormick Vegetable Seasoning
I also added some sauteed mushrooms at the end.

Put the rice, beans & corn in first.
Cover with the chicken stock.

Add the chicken & then the seasonings.

Set on HIGH for 4 hours.
Shred the chicken in the pot. Stir it all together.
Turn down to LOW for an hour.
Add sauteed mushrooms & serve.

Soooooooooooo yummy!!!

Used Dryer Sheet turned Cobwebs!

My daughter actually thought of this last year. We try not to be wasteful. We try to reuse things as much as possible. I thought she was taking that a little far when she said she made cobwebs with a dryer sheet she found in her clean laundry. Then, she showed me! HA! My kid is brilliant.

All you do is carefully tug in opposite directions until the whole thing looks like cobwebs.

Viola!

Someone's getting all crafty up in here!

This blog is going to be my showcase, my parking lot, my venting place and my inspiration cork board. I plan to post my flowers, art, craft ideas, things I've made and recipes I have either tried & love or have created myself. Here's a little tidbit of what I've done.
